Earth Day

Sahara Mustard

Huzzah Weeds! Happy Earth Day! On an sunny spring day the birds call out, the breeze playfully tousles hair and tickles noses. The weeds are working at full power spreading sunny dispositions and seeds, of course. Many folk set their minds and backs to toil lovingly in the soil, making order, planting this or that, spreading life. But if a shovel is not at hand, or not your favorite tool, relax and enjoy the show. The only tools we need are the tools of observation – our senses. The weeds and wildflowers, shrubs and trees, et al, have got the rest covered. Whether as grand and imposing as a sequoia or as lacy as this weed, constantly bending and bowing with the slightest whisper of a breeze, the grace of nature is all around us. Each blossom opens up to contain and welcome the beauty of the earth. This weed has a handful of sunny gladness to share!

Please enjoy this Earth Day with all you’ve got!

The weeding can be done tomorrow.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
