My Scary Mask

With my thorns and my irritating spines and my glowing red eyes, I stare down the day. “Take that!”, I growl. “Don’t you dare give me trouble, or I’ll pierce you!”

Okay, so I’m small, and I have no power over where I go. I am at the mercy of the wind and passerby traffic, but up close, I am darn fierce. My attacks are unpredictable and unforeseen. The scouts never hear of my plans and the trackers never recognize my trail. I broadcast on my own frequency, as I broadcast my seeds and launch myself onto your socks and shoes, thereby crippling your weed-free existence.

So now, when you look at me, you see a little more of a threat than before, am I right?

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
