Green Growth in Fall

On this, the first day of Autumn, I celebrate being able to take a breath. I celebrate being alive and having the luxury of enjoying seasons. To benefit from the ebb and flow of energy enables me to store and conserve, to sprout and bloom, to fruit and seed, and to take advantage of the beneficial leavings or droppings of those who came before me. My life as a weed allows me to make full use of the seasons and of the time needed to take each step, each according to its own inner clock.

On a grander scale, for those weed watchers out there, aren’t you lucky to have a life so long, that you cannot easily spot the patterns of each season, even though they still exist and influence your lives? Your lives have patterns so large and intertwined with daily life that the bigger picture is too far away to see, and the day to day structure presents itself anew each day with patterns that remain invisible unless one takes many steps back to observe! Oh, to live in a world of such wonder! Thank you green weed growing in red autumn leaves – you’ve helped me see a pattern!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
