Taste of Spring
The Taste

Oh, today I can taste Spring! The bright warm sun, the delightful tickling breeze and the captured water drops that radiate clarity as they cling to their perch on the weeds in my garden. (Yes, my garden.) I am chagrined to admit that I let the weeds take over my dormant plots and grow freely in the winter. My weeds just seem so happy and they benefit from my organic, compost enriched soil. I let them have their time. So before my seasonal weed pulling commences I delight in watching them get sprinklered.

Breathing in deeply of the first hints of spring is like reveling in loving someone. The day seems brighter, the sun warmer on your face and the songs of the birds are a personal serenade, the melody of which is tuned to your ear. Everything is clearer and much more possible. Each mountain top is climbable, each dream can come true. We are nourished by our own spring moments, those times when we say yes to the possibilities and faith in the future. Spring quenches the thirst of our dreams and on a day like today we are blessed.

Today my weeds show me just how beautiful the world is, even in a dormant garden overrun. Thank goodness for weeds!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.

    1. Hello, Little Brown Tomato!

I am so honored that you’ve thought of me for the Liebster Award. I gratefully accept! You are right in that it takes a bit of time to prepare the acceptance/passing on, so I’ll be working on that will post soon re: the award. But in the meantime, I wanted to sincerely thank you. You;ve made my day!
