The Rabbits’ Field

Curve

Curve

Try to take a straight line, and something will get in your way. There are thorns and prickles, a hole or maybe something smells alarming so then a detour must be made. Take that detour more than once, twice, thrice… and the detour becomes a course, which becomes a playground!

The rabbits think their actions are secretive, and that their ploys will be surprising. But they do not fly high like the hawk, they do not conceptualize the bigger picture and so cannot see the tracks they have laid down. With the work they have done, all I need to do is let lose the bunnies in my imagination, perhaps three or four of them and let them run around playing freeze tag or hide and seek. Rabbits are secretive beings, so if I do not see them now, I’ll make sure to pass this way again and try to get a glimpse of them, playing happily in the weeds.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
