Softy
Softy

The curve of your cheek catches the light and my eye slides down round a curve towards your ear, where the soft hair grows. Peach fuzz. The soft hairs are touchable, whisperable, secret keeping fibers that promise a touch of babyhood even in adulthood. Let me trace my fingers down your cheek to that ticklish place and then I’ll plant a quiet kiss in the warm air above the fuzz as I hover just out of reach. Is this softness the source of your strength?

The fuzz is delicate on this weed, and strong, as it is holding together the seeds that will carry secret weed DNA across the fields. When you’re getting ready to launch your offspring into the air, perhaps its best to combine the best of both worlds: softness with strength. The fuzziness is irresistible and enticingly touchable. But once you do touch it, the puffy ball will release its tufted seeds and the onslaught, the campaign to conquer will begin!

I think a soft touch, a fingering, may just be worth it. Enjoy your flights, seed tufts! Lift off is inevitable!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
