My friends were waiting for me when I reached the top of the hill. The three of them stood together, creating a signpost to mark the nearing of the end of the trail. Civilization was visible in the distance, but before I reached it, they wanted to bid me good morning and goodbye for the day. They told me they were happy I’d stopped by. And I was too.
My wild friends share with me the contentment of standing by the side of a path, of soaking up the sunshine and watching insects and birds flit by. They, like me, are warmed by the sun and they let that warmth spread and moods soar with the sun and the summer breezes. How kind friends are, that they stand by you, they wait for you, and they share simple things with you.
I wish for you today, dear weed lovers, a day with friendship!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
