Take a leap into lazy lemon yellow. Take a refreshing dip in the depths of summer’s sunny face and sink between the stamens, roll around in the pollen and flounce and upon the petals that bounce back in complete surrender of joy. This Sow Thistle celebrates summer and borrows familiarity and charm from its cousin, the wish granting dandelion.
It is not important to this lovely weed that it is not the fairy tale dandelion. It is close enough. So sunny, it luxuriates in the same color and passes on the same smiles to those whose eyes have been lucky enough to catch a glimpse of its welcoming, lazy yellow face.
Summer is not over yet, so while we can, let us smile a lemony smile!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
