Choice. It is a simple concept and yet we struggle daily. Which path do we take? Which road, the high road or the low road? Which road will get us ahead? How do we choose when both options are tempting? Choice is the result of a decision, but oh, how many factors go into decisions, and how many of those factors are hidden from plain view. Do we look out for ourselves above others or do we set aside our needs, perhaps to a fault, to cater to someone else?
What to do?
We do this. We go back to our roots. We follow the stem down to the core and we search for the clues that hearken back to the truths of our upbringing. We search to read the valued lessons that have kept us striving forward with strength and that have comforted us in hard times.
Then we make a move, and in moving we change our fate. We decide and then act. We choose and then change. It is a simple concept, but one that endlessly challenges us and brings out both the best and the worst in us. We just never know which side will come to the front. Will we bring forth flowers or thorns?
We choose and then grow. Here’s to a glorious life, and all our choices, good and bad!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
