We’ve got to get busy, we’ve got to rush! We’ve got to plan and clear the path for fun! We’ve got to get ready to spend time in the sun!
It is Friday and my week of gloomy office days is growing old and tiresome. I look outside the window and cannot WAIT to rush outside!
I’ve been a busy bee all week, handling tasks and changing gears all at a moment’s notice. I had my nose to the grindstone, slogging through the muddy tedium of the mundane tasks that return week after week. But at times the scent of something fresh came my way and I lifted my head to rise to the challenge and give it my best. I must admit that sometimes I did fail. I did not soar triumphantly into the sky of grand achievements as I imagined I might. But as I reflect on those times when I fell short… isn’t it a good thing I’ve actually noticed that I could have done better?
Yes! Yes! Yes! So off I go, to try again.
The promise to renew myself in a weekend of long sunny days beckons to me and gives me energy even before it has arrived. Ah, hope! Ah, anticipation! Every day, every exchange, every communication, every task offers me a chance to do better, to be clearer, to act more respectful and to rise to the occasion.
I might try to visit every bloom in my weed garden this weekend. And, well, if I miss one or two, or even change my mind to do something else entirely, I shall enjoy the freedom to flit from enticement to enticement. I shall allow my spirit to soar as I dream of all the opportunities.
Happy weekend to all my weed loving friends!
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
