The first thing you do is open the door. Then take a step, and then another. Keep that up and always keep moving. You may not know what your destination is now, but you will come to it eventually and you’ll get closer with each step. The rhythm of your feet and your heart, your breathing in and out, and the wind on your face will bring you back to life.
You may tumble or hesitate. You may even stray, but that’s okay. And even if you end up lodged against a fence like this wandering tumbleweed, look out and enjoy your view. You may witness a sunrise so beautiful it has the power to transport you to another place, even though things feel like they are holding you back. It will be soon enough that another burst of wind loosens your ties to what stopped you and on your way again you’ll roll.
A tumbleweed knows that sometimes the best route is a random one. And really, do we have much choice after all is said and done? You are making a path and when you look behind you , you’ll see how far you’ve come.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be. Please come back again for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
Even better, look down at the world that teems with life and meaning. It is right at your feet!
