Rough and soft. Thorned and vulnerable. Armored and breakable. What a pair we make. Our outward selves are simply the masks we wear to contain the truth protected within. To the casual passersby, you appear strong and I – delicate, but inside you are tender and I am tough. Hold my hand and lean in when I whisper my intentions. I treasure the rough exterior that protects your sweet core as you yearn, exposed and vulnerable despite your strength. As you reach out in tenderness I welcome you and adopt my stronger stance so as to embrace you wholly. In that way we tend to on another. I shall stay forever at your side, dear one.
Side by side we grow, and watch the birds slice across the sunset, the gentle breezes caressing us. We sway together, each in our own unique way. I realize, I could not have chosen a better companion. How lucky we are that this patch of earth will sustain us both.
To weed love! We are the same, you and I.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
