Working the Street

Widening the Crack

No bigger than a postage stamp, this ambitious public servant has taken on a public works project of considerable size. This weed is working to widen the crack in the street. Legions before it have done their part, and bit by bit, every root expands the space set aside for future generations. Weeds are the original “Occupy” activists, as they take advantage of every vulnerable flaw in civilized society to grab what is theirs. By possessing even a crack in the street and thriving, weeds guarantee that their seeds will spread their message. Work with what you’ve got and make it work for you.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
