Enduring the high desert’s harsh seasons and witness to all manner of extremes, the granite boulder stands its ground and is once again visited by a new generation of an old, old friend. The weed sprouts anew each spring with unrestrained enthusiasm and vigor. Green growth greets the morning after rain with excitement, and after a few weeks in the scorching sun, the green wisely fades to a sustainable golden color. Weed life is contained within the stalks of this plant to ensure that after each winter of rain, a new generation of green growth will sprout. Each spring the boulder will say hello again to its old friend, reincarnated. So the question is, which is stronger, granite or weed?
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
