I am Moss. Underfoot I can be quite pleasing. In the wild I face north and gently hug moist spots. I am friends with fairies, gnomes and elves and live harmoniously with rocks and other “higher” plants. My structure and living style is simple, uncluttered by vascular systems and roots. In the wild I am at peace.
Lying low in a temple garden, I carpet the earth and calm spirits. Underneath a Bonsai I complete the illusion. But in “your” lawn, you think I am a weed. I wonder, did you ask the grasses their opinion? So I’ll do as I please, and I think I prefer to stay in the wild, thank you very much!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
