“I am not a weed!” The desert shrub cried.
But I did not listen, for I am in the desert and I am making up my own world, a world of free living things, stars in the dark clear sky, a bright moon, cold air and no rules. So tonight, this bit of scrub became a moonlit desert weed.
Things can get lost in the desert: deadlines, worries, to do lists and the hum of daily business. If you wander long enough in the desert, you can lose yourself. Things can be found in the desert as well: solitude, peace, freedom and extreme beauty. No matter what you find or lose, if you look up to see the heavens above the desert you will gasp with amazement and you will find yourself grounded in mother earth, just like this desert plant, my weed stand in for today.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
