After a long exhilarating ride on dusty desert trails where the cacti and Joshua Trees and scrub stretch out before you and all that grows is coated with dust kicked up by dirt bike and atvs, we climbed and climbed, scrambling up switchbacks and rutted trails, until, tired and satisfied, we reached the mountain top. There is a cabin at the top of the mountain to reward those who have made the climb, and a guest book to sign. What a treat!
On the mountaintop, I felt close to the sky where the air was cool and clean and dust free. And because today is St. Patrick’s Day, I was on the lookout for something green, and the desert offers few choices. Our adventurous trek up to 6400 feet above sea level revealed green treasure! Here you go, weed lovers, a sweet bit of green for luck and good fortune.
I wish for you today happy wandering!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
