Here I go. I face forward, eyes towards the sun. I look into the face of brilliance and dare myself to quake with fear. The fear does not come, and for that I exclaim! Loud cheers of exaltation ring round and round inside my head! My spirits lift and I am filled with the power that comes from appreciation. I am not perfect, in fact, if I were a bristly ox tongue, as pictured above, I would find a foxtail stuck to my head, like some hanger-on grabbing to my coat tails in search of a leader who will show the way to proceed.
And you know, that’s okay too. I can handle the weight of someone who needs to follow, for we are never truly alone, and I never truly succeed without others. So I look into the face of the future, I bask in the sunlight of possibilities and I exhale with joy. This is my moment, imperfect, but mine. This is a time to grow and to breathe and move forward. This is a moment to love where and who I am and to make it all better with the next breath. This is the time to be brave, the time to make promises, the time to let my spirit soar and live!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be. And I am so amazed that they give back to me every single day. Amazing!
