Birthday Bouquet

Bristly Ox Tonque

Bristly Ox Tongue

There are many things that a nineteen year old birthday boy likes, and one of them is sleeping in. So my dear son, my Z-man (he used to be Z-baby, then Z-Boy) got his wish. I left the house cool and quiet with a bouquet of hand picked flowers on the tables along with some yummy treats for snacking. Because I am his mom, and I’d like to think he appreciates my little fascination with weeds, I snuck a couple of them into his birthday display.

Here we have Bristly Ox Tongue set against periwinkle blue blossoms and the vibrant magenta leaves of bougainvillea. I also snuck in some yellow mustard grass and both weed cuttings are standing up quick nicely after several hours in a vase. All because I love him dearly and he deserves something unique.

Happy Birthday, my dear Zachary! May this coming year be weederful!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
