Beside My Feet
Beside My Feet

Down on the ground beside my feet in between swirls of dried leaves and dead grasses, there you are. There is no reason for you to hide. But you have a disguise that complicates recognition. While you mimic discarded dried bits, in your well constructed fortress you contain mysteries. In each hidden compartment there is stored a seed with the memory and plan for life.

Fragments of beginnings lie scattered on the ground like waste. But that is the very perfect place for these seeds, dormant and waiting for rain and cool weather, signals to mark the start of regeneration.

How little we know and understand about the ways and design of nature. And what a glorious wonder it is that we can find something like this just on the ground, right beside our feet. Watch your step dear friends!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
