Looking Up
Looking Up

I look up to you, sky.

I tilt my face up to soak you in and I feel small, dwarfed by your immensity and the curve of the earth. Yet at the same time I feel my world is so big, unlimited in fact, if measured in dreams that float on high with the clouds. You, sky, are my compass, my north, my center and my apex and I point to you while every inch of me grows up and up and forever upwards.

I can rise above all things anchored in the ground if I try hard enough. I close my eyes and I am up in the stratosphere, floating and enjoying the view as I look down and around to discern the meaning of life and find a pattern to our existence. Will I find the answers? I know not, but I do so enjoy the question, and the act of searching.

Perhaps the meaning is in the search. Somehow that feels right. I believe I can rest at that point in my discovery and take a few moments to discover more questions.

I learned something fun today! Apex means “the highest point”. Well I knew that. But I was not aware that apex is also a term in botany that means “the growing point of a shoot”! So my weed today is pointing its apex at the apex. Serendipity and the dictionary both rule!

Enjoy your Tuesday all! And make sure you look up!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
