Rays
Seeds, Away!

The golden rays of sunlight hit us square on, highlighting our mission to propagate to save the planet as we know it. So we stand upright. We are ready to launch, to take this next step. The rains gave us our opportunity to grow. The sun and soil fortified us for the challenges ahead. For days and weeks we’ve nurtured and sheltered familial seeds threaded with silky filaments. Today is the day! We open up our shells to give our seeds freedom and we release them into the air, so they can find their own space in which to grow…their own patch of earth to call home. We’ve gifted our seeds with parachutes capable enough to lift and carry them away on their golden travels through summer sunsets.

We’ve survived by being inconspicuous and growing quietly, without notice. Seeds, we held you tightly and protected you for as long as we could. But the time has come for release. So today we shall give you up. Quick as a wink, seemingly overnight, we’ve assumed our dramatic pose, ready to say “fare thee well”.

We shall do anything it takes to keep our planet spinning. We are bold. For now we are parents – and you, dearest seeds, are the future, our hope. Our world will once again be recreated, no matter what the generation is called! Who needs labels anyway.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
