Strength

Stripped down to the base essentials, the weed flower is fierce in her dignity as she bravely stares down the other, more brightly colored blooms. She’s proud of her form. It exposes her best quality, which is strength – as opposed to fluff. The sun warms her just as deeply as it does the others, but instead of preening and posing, she is free to close her eyes and soak up the rays, no longer concerned with looking pretty. By giving up pretense this weed flower becomes all the more striking. She becomes like a star, true to her form. Isn’t it funny how life can trick us into revealing our true selves when we are stretched thin or stripped bare?

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
