The beauty is in the details. The mystery, the trick, the secret is in the details. There is so much to keep track of, to put in order, to prioritize, to synchronize. We develop techniques and systems that help us keep the strands of disarray at bay, and allow us to make neat tidy packages of the challenges that get flung head on at us every day.
And so, at sunset, in the cool evening air, we can look down and take stock and admire what we hold in our hands: the bundles of tasks accomplished, goals met, beginnings started and lists made. We can admire and learn from the order we made today. This will steel us for the messy parts that will come with dawn tomorrow, when we start all over again. Perhaps we’ve mastered something today, some technique or mantra that will allow us to focus on the journey and the beauty in the details that greets us every single day.
Thank you weeds, for bringing the little things to the spotlight in my mind. Thank you for breaking down the herculean mountains into attainable steps we shall stride.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
