They lined up happy. They were happy to be invited to the party, happy to be seen, happy to rub elbows with the other elite on the planet. This plant was their planet and the party was rocking cool! Their disc jockeys were the mockingbirds in the trees above the garden and the songs were their impersonations of summer songbirds’ melodies and the rustling, clanging and clear bell tones of the wind chimes that graced the air.
When there’s a party, and you’ve just arrived, these insect friends advise the first thing to do is to stand in line. Whatever kind of line it is, whether it’s for drinks, or to say hello to the host, or just the line to get in, a line is always a nice way to begin. It allows you to get your bearings and make sure you’ve dressed just right. You can put your weight down in a place that has justification to it, and holding your place in line gives you a chance to scope out the action. For the daring ones among us, and perhaps for these weed loving line hoppers, a conga line makes the perfect entrance.
Whatever your adventure is this weekend, I do hope you spy a weed or two to give you inspiration!
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
