I awaken and the moment is pure and crystal clear as if I’d been awake and waiting for this lucid moment for hours. There is no foggy haze, no drowsy cloud of dreams in my mind to pull away from. This moment is simple, but it is mine and it is sharp. I think and wonder, and that is the point.
The answers are not necessarily the key. What is important is the journey, the looking, the wandering and the wondering – those are clearly my purpose. As one who wonders and wanders daily, it can seem as if I am always searching, as if I am lost. I am certainly not lost. I am so found and so rooted that I can let go a bit and exclaim over the simple beautiful things that lie alongside my path every day. The wandering is my mission.
I can see the point and the aim and the direction that all the arrows are pointing towards. But so can everyone else! So rather than rush to complete the goal and reach the finish line I want to acknowledge the suggested direction and then examine all the choices and routes and details along the way that will bring me the most glorious adventure.
I look to enjoy the view, and I give thanks that it exists in its clarity there someone looks at it or not. Weeds help point the way. Thank you, dear weed friend, for showing me the way.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
