Here’s Looking At You

All Eyes

All Eyes

I see you everyday, but it is only sometimes that my eyes are open wide enough that I allow myself to come out of my busyness to stop and really look at you. And in those golden moments I look and see your tenderness, your openness, your love and your need to be with company. And so I pause my busy life, take a breath and slow down.

I open up all my eyes in those golden moments of opportunity for true realization. I see you with my eyes, my heart, my memory, my senses of touch and smell. I watch you as if you are in a vision from my past, or from my future. I play our moment back and forth, over and over so that it will be etched in my memory forever.

I want to savor this vision and realization of you and not let it past. I want to treasure you and keep this closeness with me in my heart always. I want to let you feel that I am happy to wait with you, happy to watch the sunset and be quiet, happy to play with a dog and laugh. This moment is more important than any task I might have or any deadline that I’ve constructed. I tear down those obstacles to closeness and be here with you. I feel joy.

I am thankful that you awaken this in me. And so kid, here’s looking at you, with all my love.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
