Two
We Share

Before us are two cups of yellow to hold our dreams. I handle them carefully and keep them level, for I do not want to spill a drop. Sweet like honey and rich like butter, my dreams warm in the sun and grow sweeter when shared. And so I sit with my sister who with every passing day is ever more my friend, and we share. I offer up my dreams and show them to her, hoping for a tender reception. She receives mine with wonder and examines every detail, seeing in my dream, the reflection of my secret wishes.

With delight I exhale a breath of relief and release, as I am grateful that she understands. Our eyes meet and it is better than looking in a mirror. Her eyes reflect the truest me, the one that never tarnished, never grew angry, never judged too hastily, never aged.

And then she in turn shyly holds up her cup of dreams and inspects it before passing it my way. With love I watched my sister examine mine, and so with equal care I carefully accept her cup of dreams and peek inside. Her vulnerability and hopefulness is laid out there with such delicacy and pluck that I know she will always be cherished, whether or not the actual dreams contained in this particular vessel are fulfilled or not. The truest beauty is in what we dare to dream, and those dreams bloom brighter when we share them with those we love.

I wish for you, weed lovers, a true friend or sister or brother, niece or child… a soulmate and then a plentitude of sweet pure dreams to dream, and to share. I wish for us all, understanding, when we share a part of ourselves with someone else.

I wish for you, many moments spent in the sun, sharing secrets with one you love.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.

The sentiments here become more true with every curve of the path we are on. “Sweet like honey and rich like butter, my dreams warm in the sun and grow sweeter when shared. And so I sit with my sister who with every passing day is ever more my friend, and we share.”

I wish for you a friend, a sister, a niece (Jennifer) a child, with with to share your golden hopes and dreams.
