In a crack I have found my niche. I am in a place that suits me. I have found shelter from forces that might weaken me. In this crack I will grow, and as I do I will change this crack, as we all transform the world around us. I will expand it as I make myself bigger, taller, stronger, useful and more grand.
I will surprise you all, for I will be a tree.
It is possible, lest you think it’s not. I have roots that might be hidden from view, but do not dismiss them. They are strong and deep, and are a part of me that I cannot ignore. My roots nourish me and my dreams, lofty dreams. I dream I will be a tree.
I will grow to a height from which I shall see many delights and many colors of the sky and sun and clouds. I will dance in the breezes and delight in birdsong. I will be generous with my shade and offer my branches to be homes for small creatures who need shelter.
I will look protectively at the growing things below me and nurture as many as I can. I shall give to the best of my ability and according to my nature. For it is my nature to be a tree, no matter what you or I believe.
Every small thing believes in ways much bigger than their size. Don’t you think so too?
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be. Please come back again for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
Even better, look down at the world that teems with life and meaning. It is right at your feet!
