The weed seed had flown across the meadows in fits and starts, gliding from here to there; getting snared, and then being startlingly loosed from thorns or branches by the fickle breeze. A few weeds looked up in anticipation of catching the floating adventurer, if only to say hello on such a nice breezy morning, but the weed seed’s journey had no dialed in direction, only chance at the helm. And so it was serendipity that the dear weed seed landed pretty as a picture straddling the gap between two leaves of neighboring weeds.
“Peace,” this weed seed said to the two neighbors who ceased their fight for soil, light and water. For today they were partners, working together to support a seed who will change things. Today they support hope and new life.
Do they speak to you?
Lift up your arms and stretch to shelter and protect a seed of hope which can change the future! Protect that precious possibility with kindness and use your intelligence to nurture it. Shall we give it a try?
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like. Even better, look out at the world that teems with life and meaning. It is right at your feet!
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
