Dainty Eye Catchers
Dainty Eye Catchers

The dainty little flowers caught my eye as they innocently looked wide eyed at the world before them. Like a group of sisters or best friends gathered to enjoy the festivities of a dance, they were happy enough to stand to the side, behind more showy flowers like roses and tulips. They danced and swayed to the music but did not need to take center stage. Instead they found their fun by staying with each other and giggling. There was the thrill of possibly being discovered and asked to dance – but if not, they were quite content to be a part of their happy little group.

At the garden party on a sunny Winter’s day these were the young flowers whose uninhibited enjoyment of the festivities imbued their beauty with freshness and charm. Guilelessly, they were open to the joys of happiness and friendship. Their vision was not obscured nor colored by self awareness or artifice.

Oh, the freedom of innocence that allows us to truly enjoy something, and be enjoyed by others! Have a happy Winter day! Today, if you can’t find a rose to smell, try something different – give a weed a sniff!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
