Candy Red

There was no Easter egg hunt today at my house, as my family has more serious matters to pursue. Yours too, I imagine. We are living in times that are not festive, so celebrations seem out of place. Instead, we keep to ourselves, and quiet days at home are the new normal.

During quarantine, going outside is more important than ever to me. So I wander outside on a daily basis, seeking to soothe my soul and quiet my racing thoughts that are tied to headlines and social media streams. Today’s rain soaked everything, so as I searched the wet weeds I was rewarded with an Easter surprise in the grass.  I found this wee ladybug, colored candy apple red, hiding amongst the pink-toned foxtails that were decorated with spring’s diamond rain drops. It was a sight that glimmered with the light from above, a gift to remind me of all the blessings I have received, and how lucky I am.

Happy Easter and Happy Passover, or if you’re not into that…Happy Spring! Whether you are searching for answers today, or simply day dreaming, my wish for you is that you find unexpected treasures, and receive great joy from the blessings that come your way.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
