This is often how I see weed evidence of doggy adventures. Lucky, my Border Terrier, obliviously sports all manners of weed seeds, burrs and thorns with great spunk! They hitch a ride on her scruffy coat when she’s been snuffling about in the underbrush. She might have been on the trail of a bunny, lizard, squirrel or mouse, but this weed sniffed her out for weed transport. “All aboard the doggy train!”
I’ve been aching to capture a weed on my dog for quite some time. Today was our lucky day! She got her tummy rubbed and I got her to stay still long enough for me to capture this photo.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
I just love nature’s resourcefulness. Great post. I especially liked the part that said that you have been waiting to capture a weed on your dog. How fun.
Thank you! Lucky gets a lot of burrs stuck in her coat, but she rarely poses for the camera. So this time I lucked out!
Hi. You have a good concept here. I like the way the text pops up on the images in your month-long calendar of weeds. Weeds are so ephemeral… they take away guilt! jane
