April 6th Weed Revisted

The unlikely beauty of April 6th has endured a growth spurt. The flower is starting to elongate and soon petals will emerge. Perhaps a fairy will be inside? This growing process is all about strength and this weed is showing some scars of the struggle; some old age spots and a bit of browning at the edges. The purpose of a leaf is after all, to fuel the flower. So before, it was the foliage that caught the eye of passerbys. But now, this weed has toned down its colors and prepares to bloom.

I am inspired by things that grow in the ground and blow in the wind. I like to play in the dirt, especially when planting something, and can talk to trees. I like to look closely at things that at first seem small, insignificant, dried out, or contrary. Weeds may not welcome me with swollen blossoms, but the visual treasure they offer up, are well worth a look. Do you agree?
