Before the sky fills with saturated rosy hues there are moments of drama in the sky. This solitary weed stands witness to the impending event, quietly enjoying the last moments of day. The sky changes quickly at dusk and if you look away, perhaps distracted by birds overhead or a bunny running across the plains, you will miss the transitions. This weed does not lose its concentration. This weed allows itself to be cloaked with shadows as the moments tick away, going from full white to gray, and then a silhouette. This weed does not really change, although it appears to. It is only our eyes that cannot keep up with the fading light. In the morning, this weed will still be here. And if we visit, perhaps we shall see new things in it.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
