We hold hands and look at each other with big nervous smiles. We shiver with delight (just a bit) take a huge breath and hold it….Then together we leap out into the air from way up high and we both anticipate the splash below into the swimming hole! My best friend, I will remember this moment always. You and I will stay together forever, frozen in our sparkling moment of daring to take the plunge!
Once we hit the water it is inevitable that we must separate and swim to the surface, only to climb out and do it over and over again. But in this moment before our daring leap, time stands still and we are one: our hands are joined, and our eyes are locked. We are in our own little bubble.
Others may see us jump together and notice that we have eyes for no one else, and they may try to capture that pure feeling of togetherness and support. What a beautiful thing it is, to pass the joy around!
