The View
The View

I have a hill to climb. The path is rough and uneven. The ground is rocky. The weeds brush their scratchy dried leaves and bare stems against me, trying to slow me down. Their thorns snag me, trying to tie me down to the ground. They shall not succeed.

I know that I must keep on. I must endure. I cannot slack off! My momentum keeps me moving and has me envisioning the view at the crest of the hill. I will see it, of that I am certain.

A lone dried yucca plant stands mid-hill amongst the weeds and wild brush. It alone towers over all, straight-backed with resolve. It beckons those below it to keep looking up and keep marching on. It promises surprises at the crest of the hill and a view to inspire. It is a marker for a place to stop and enjoy the summit and it is the magical place to start to dream up one’s next quest.

Work hard, play hard, keep accepting challenges, and grow straight and strong! With hard work and faith you will be blessed to enjoy the view at the crest of every hill!

And please dear weed lovers, look for the markers in your life; look for the signposts that point towards the crests of the hill that you can ascend. It will be a wonderful, weederful day!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
