Sahara Mustard Seed Pod

Earth is unique and so hospitable, possessing all the right conditions to support life; water being the most necessary element. Some life forms (weeds) grab onto life and thrive when you add soil, oxygen and sunlight to the water….along with seeds. I know this weed! This plant is called Sahara Mustard and this is a seed pod about to unfurl. I could make mustard using the seeds, if I was energetic enough in the kitchen.

I prefer to allow my imagination to kick in, so I get to wondering. Where did this alien looking life form really come from? The answer of course, is that it floated to my neck of the woods in the sky….but still, I’m not so sure I’d like to run into it in a darkened spaceship hallway, air vent or an Arctic outpost.  And if it was a foggy morning and I was just a wee sprite wandering in the weeds, it might give me the chills.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
