There are signs all around us, gentle nudges and hints and suggestions of ways to travel, of paths to follow and of mountainous goals to traverse. The signs are subtle and open to interpretation, therein lies our freedom – to interpret as we wish. The signs are natural visual clues and scents and sensations that open windows into time if we choose to see them as such. The signs vary, so they can present themselves as the pauses in conversation, the quiet lull before a storm, and also like the torrential thunderous pounding of rain that sounds like it can and will never stop.
Read the signs in the lines of the fields, in the pointing fingers of the mustard grass that stand steadfast against the sky despite being dry and brittle. Look to interpret the trails and forks in the road that pop up to upset us and tilt us one way or another, or perhaps both in dizzying repetition, all despite our existing plans, the ones we have so carefully constructed. After the tumultuous moments, we will right ourselves and find balance once again.
In the quiet, listen for the chosen way to reveal itself to you. Then with all you’ve got… stride forward onto that path and follow the signposts to the next fork in the road. When you treat your life as a journey there are no wrong turns and no doubling back. Every day is a discovery. And you are the adventurer.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
