Future Glimpse?
Future Glimpse?

Always eager for what lies ahead and what is coming next, the future beckons to me. If I could soar high above the earth and glimpse the dawn about to break or the sun before it sets, I would do so. If I could set a switch to a time I’d like to travel to, and then with a magic spell or secret password jump to that new moment, in a heartbeat, I would. I ache to gaze upon the undiscovered path of tomorrow and I wonder how dazzling and brilliant the light will be when it appears over the horizon.

But I am firmly rooted to this earth and entangled in this here and now. My toes dig into the dirt and my hands reach up and out to grasp clean green life. I revel in it, this life of today, the daily life of growing. So I will travel amidst the weeds and living things of this earth and I will scratch and climb and toil my way to the future.

As I make my way on this earthbound journey towards tomorrow I will plant my ambitions and dreams and nurture them to grow stronger every day. In this way I will welcome the future, like the weeds that remain committed as they creep towards accomplishing their domination of garden and of world.

To travel one day at a time is divine and magic, as it was designed to be. Some days I need to fly, but on most days…playing in the dirt is,

“Oh so fine!”

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
