What nerve it took for Wendy to walk the plank when Captain Hook commanded her. She steeled herself, gulping down her love for Peter Pan and stepped off into thin air with faith as her only life preserver. Naturally, because she took a chance she was rescued before any danger could snap her up.
Here is a weed plank that has accepted the challenge to walk sideway, to be blinded by the sun to any purposes contrary with its own. The weed bends to find its own way, to oppose those who might shorten its grasp at true heroics. Some days, time stands still and we are asked to risk taking a plunge into the unknown. When we walk that plank our nerves jangle and twist, realigning our normal state of comfort into a heightened, on-alert state wherein we can balance when needed and jump at the right moment. We may not be athletes nor daredevils, but there is strength within us that we usually suppress. With precarious choices of different futures laid out in front of us, we have the agility to judge the worthiness of going one way or another to find the bridge to our next adventure.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
