Grey Morning
Horehound

The plants in the fields and along side the roadways all feel it. The children walking to school in the chilly morning know it. The parents who prepare meals earlier and earlier, who watch their calendars and clocks to try to keep ahead of it.

Autumn is here and with it comes the hug of foggy mornings and blanket of overcast days. The thoughts of flip flops and bathing suits seems suddenly so far away. Now is the time for Autumn, for taking deep breaths of cool air, for noticing the sharp slant of the sun as the days grow shorter. And for a weed? This season is another season for growth, for taking over territory and biding time until the blooms come. A time like any other.

We go on in the fog, in the rain and in the grey. We do not need the sun to show us the way. We keep on because we know how and we know we should. Autumn is the time to be real. Autumn is the time to grow up a little bit. Autumn is the time to climb mountains with an eye trained at the peak as we journey on.

Blessings all!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
