Horehound Starlets

Introducing horehound. It thrives in poor soil and does so beautifully. It is a weed with looks for many moods: tender, whimsical, fierce, determined. I’ve got lots of horehound in the untended part of my yard, on my hill, and on the hills and wild lands near my home. I love horehound in the summer, fall and winter. But in spring, when the land has to be cleared, we battle. Until spring, enjoy!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.

    1. I love your name for your yard, “Darwin’s Yard”. Horehound is an amazing plant and I love it much more for how determined it is!
