Ladybird soaks up the warm sun after finishing her aphid snack. Without warning a breeze whips her weed to and fro. “Oh, tippy again! Dear me!” Smartly, Ladybird adjusts her angle and takes a turn round the bend of the weed flower to get out of the breeze. Ahhh, balance restored. “How funny that I can just get so flustered!” Ladybird thinks. “Now I am as happy as a lark again. Wait, what is a lark? I heard something. Was that a lark?” She glances up.
Weedy Sky
Ladybird’s world is beautiful, and the sight of the blue sky makes Ladybird happy. No lark, whatever that is. She is safe in the weeds.
Ladybird Journey continues tomorrow with Part 4.
Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.
We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
I am inspired by things that grow in the ground and blow in the wind. I have been seen talking to trees and I like to play in the dirt, especially when planting something. I like to look closely at things that at first seem small, insignificant, dried out, or contrary. Weeds may not welcome me with swollen blossoms, but the visual treasure they allow me to find upon close examination, are well worth a look. I hope you agree. I hope that these images of the oft-overlooked pest of our gardens and yards may give to you some delight, hope, or a new thought to make your daily journey just a little bit more inspired.
