The World’s Mysteries

Mysteries In The Meadow

There is a world before me, a world full of mystery. My eye can see the curve of the land and the beautiful sky streaked with pink clouds. I see the weeds at the crest of the hill and the larger weeds beyond which look like trees. I see the minute details of the blades of grass coated with delicate prisms of iced dew, and the patterns and waves of color that make the grasses move and swirl. This setting seems to contain more that meets my eye however.

I am captivated by what I cannot see, and that rings true for me every day. What is going on in between the blades of frosted grass? Are there travelers, sprites, fairies carrying on their lives as they live close to the ground? Are there bands of minute weed armies doing maneuvers? Cities nestled deep next to the moist earth?

These are the gifts that looking closely at the mysteries of the world offer up. Let your imagination fly and who knows what you will discover!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.

  1. Hi. I love all the colors in this photo. Also the weed’s speculation that those are trees on the horizon. Jane

Thank you Jane! Yes, the colors. Nature can give us such beautiful things! Frost on living things make for magical scenes. And aren’t weeds silly, thinking everything revolves around them!
