Promise
Dandelion Smile

I have seen you, dandelion flower, in so many places, and for all the years of my life. From the first time you smiled at me when I was a eager toddler, to lazy afternoons when I was a daydreaming teenager, to today in my adult state of contemplation and inspiration, you promise sweetness to me. I feel I have always known you and you have always smiled on me. As universally as you always appear, like clockwork in Spring and on warm days, it is still a sweet surprise to find your sunny face calling for my attention!

You are the decorator of lawns, the mascot of weeds, the carrier of wishes and friend to all weed lovers. You pose no threat, no danger, no ill will, only delight, fancy and fond memories. The motto of a dandelion: “World, bring me sunshine and I will spread the smiles and belief in anything possible.”

Look around today and I’ll bet it will be easy to spy a dandelion in your neighborhood! Blessings to you all today.

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.
