Filaree And Friends

Count The Aphids!

Count The Aphids!

Hello pretty Filaree, how many aphids do you have? I shall count them, one, two three…Are there more? Eagle eye, let me see.

When I see an interesting weed gesticulating wildly in the wind to catch my eye, I smile. In that moment, weed and I have communicated. We are connected. When I see a weed strike a dramatic pose, I lean in close, examine the angle, and lean in closer still for another look. A dramatic pose deserves some appreciation.  How I do admire their poise, their tenacity, their vigor! Live life like a weed and stand strong!

This Filaree is offering up a fun puzzle to solve – count the aphids – one for the easily entertained, I’ll readily admit. But life is full of complex puzzles. Isn’t it nice to be treated to a simple one now and again?

Have a wonderfully whimsical day, dear weed lovers!

Please come back tomorrow for a new “Weed Image of the Day” and let me know which ones you like.

We and our weeds are so much more than what we first appear to be.

  2. Hi. The detail in this is amazing. There is a little ‘slug’ on the stem! Filaree is pointing in so many directions! Jane

Hi Jane! Thank you so much! I love how the filaree points in so many directions. I can almost see it spinning around. I had to zoom in to see the little critter on the stem. I love taking macro shots and then discovering what is really truly there!
